God Sends Angels
Dear Caribbean Children Foundation:
We, the Chin family, would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to your
organisation for the tremendous assistance. We deeply appreciate it and there
are no words to describe how we feel. You have given us a second chance with
daughter and sister.
After we had completed all the tests at the Hospital for Sick Children, with no
real answer as to why Kelsie is having the seizures, we have returned to Guyana. Kelsie's
seizures never really stopped but have decreased to some extent. She still gets at least three
small ones every day. She remains a great fighter and we hope that one day our dream will
come through - that is, one day she will be seizure free. Kelsie is rolling a lot, trying
to grasp objects like her toys and cup. There is a great effort to raise her shoulders
and to control her neck. Her focus is improving daily as I continue to work with her on
exercises as well as reading, and spending every possible time we can with her.
Daily she seems to be getting stronger and stronger. We have learnt to live each day as
it comes and to continue to keep our faith. All of this is possible because your organisation
stepped in and assisted us in our time of need. You have allowed us to focus more on our
daughter instead of wondering how we would have met the hospital debt. God sends angels
and these angels are people like all of you. Thank you all.

TCCF a GOD SEND
Dear Caribbean Children Foundation:
My family and I would like to thank youfor all the assisstance that you have given
my daughter Amanda Miller of Jamaica. She is recuperating fine and is doing periodical
tests to see how her kidney is doing.
You have been a God send to us and we are eternally grateful for your assistance. May
God richly bless you that you can continue to help other families in need.

Alas, we LOST ONE
We can only be Guardians to angels that God chooses to leave on this earth. In the case
of Mark Holland, it would seem HE had other plans.
Mark came to usin 2002 suffering from Lupus, a chronic inflammatory disease that can
attack many organs in the body. As a teenager, he travelled from Guyana to The Hospital
for Sick Children to receive treatment.
Alas, the very best efforts of doctors at Sick Kids, and those of us in TCCF
and those who support us, failed to save Mark's life. He has since passed away due to his
condition. There is still no cure for Lupus.
A miraculous RECOVERY
Dear Caribbean Children Foundation:
On behalf of the Garib family, i would like to sincerely thank you, and the members of your
wonderful God-sent organisationfor the genuine efforts, toils, and determination put into
Nirvana's fund raising ventures. Without your help, we would have been pinned against a
steel wall and literally lost. I am glad to inform you that my sister is again filling our lives
with joy - her smile and laughter is enchanting.
Nirvana insisted that on returning home, she resumes her schooling at the Clarke Road
Hindu School. She did so the day after returning from Toronto. She has been in school
from that day to present; she loves school. Her teachers are so very impressed with her
and her homework. She had some initial problems with writing, but to date she is back at
the top of her class. She had forgotten nothing from her previous schoolwork, and now
reads without
our help - she is a brillant child, a determined child, and shows immense
potential.
My sister has regained her strength, balance, co-ordination and speech so nicely. People
are amazed that she has gone through so much; besides it is hard to tell that she has had
three major open-cranium surgeries coupled with thirty-six radiation sessions, all in less
than one year! Noone believes us! It indeed
has been a miraculous recovery and we thank
God every single day. The Hospital for Sick Kids has placed us under the guidance of an
oncologist in Trinidad. Nirvana as a result, need not visit Sick Kids too frequently for regular
checkups.
My parents send their love and gratitude. No amount of words, letters and thanks can surpass
the selfless sacrifice and assistance that you organisation have done for us. Continue the good work.
Avinash Garib
God Bless!
