Tariq and Johan Sookoo
Nine-month-old twins from Trinidad, Tariq and Johan both suffered from an imperforate anus. This is the absense of a normal anal opening. The boys received surgery from Dr. Jacob Langer in early 2005. They are doing well now.
Sasha Lovell
Sasha suffered from a rare form of cancer. At the age of six, she flew to Toronto from Guyana for her surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children. Today, she is making remarkable progress.
Fadil Khan
Fadil developed a brain tumor, referered to as Craniopharyangioma in the medical world. The teenager underwent a successful surgery at The Princess Margaret Hospital and is living a normal life with his parents in Trinidad.
Rojnica Ramlall
A severe spinal injury was keeping Rojnica from functioning normally, and this gorgeous child was flown to Toronto for a series of surgeries to correct the problem at HSC. She has recovered and is functioning normally.
Shanita Charoo
Suffering from a neuro-developmental problem, help was sought for Jamaica born Shanita for occupational and physical therapy at HSC. Shanita is better today and functions in a more advanced state than before the treatment.
Afeina France
At the tender age of eleven months, doctors detected a cyst in Afeina's brain. After undergoing surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children, baby Afeina was able to return to her home country of Antingua where she lives a normal life.
Jade Destiny Lawrence
One-year-old Jade required surgery to repair a cogential heart defect. Baby Jade's family raised $25, 824.40 to contribute to the cost of the surgery, and TCCF paid the balance. Jade's operation was successfully performed by Dr. Lee Benson at HAC. Jade's surgery went so well that she was even present at TCCF's annual boat cruise in 2004. She now resides in her home country of Trinidad.
Jonathan Seaton
Jonathan suffered from a septic knee with presumed osteomyelitis. This is where there is an acute or chronic bone infection that can be caused by bacteria. After Jonathan's successful surgery at The Toronto East General Hospital, he returned safely to St. Kitts.
Arun Maharaj
Arun suffered from urinary tract problems. When he was 10, he travelled to Torontofor his surgery. His operation was performed successfully.
Joshua Whittaker
Joshua who was five years old and born in Barbados when the severity of his urinary tract problems increased. He underwent a successful surgery at HSC.
Stephann Lue-Sue
Nine-year-old Stephann from Trinidad required urgent surgery to narrow her pulmonary valve. She underwent a successful surgery by Dr. Andrew Reddington at HSC and is now a normal and happy child.
Vergina Seeram
Ten-year-old Vergina from Guyana required surgery for her Branchial Cleft Fitsula, which is an infected hole in her neck. She underwent a successful surgery at HSC in late 2004. She is now at home in Guyana with her family who she said she missed very much during the time she spent in Toronto.
Dondre Sewell
At the delicate age of six months, Dondre required surgery for a blocked vessel fromthe heart. she underwent a successful surgery in 2004, and went back home in Jamaica. The surgery was performed by Dr. Andrew Reddington at HSC.
Vivian Daniels
Vivian was suffering froma blackage in the larynx that was causing him difficulty to breathe. He was treated at HSC and now lives a normal life in his native Tobago.
Malica Hercules
Malica was born with cranio-orbital as well as cleft lip and cleft palate deformities. At the young age of twenty-two months, the Guyana-born baby was taken under TCCF's wings. Her surgery was successful at The Hospital for Sick Children. Malica now almost 6, is dur for surgeries to correct other problems as she grows. TCCF is following her progress along the way.
Brandon Thomas
Five-year-old Brandon suffered from Posterior/Medical release. This type of deformity is found in the foot area. he underwent a successful surgery and returned to his family in Jamaica.
